The Short Version

Your contacts, notes, and check-ins stay on your phone. Poppy may send anonymous crash reports and usage data to help me fix bugs. You can turn product analytics off in Settings.

Who Runs Poppy

Poppy is made and operated by Mahir Hiro. Questions? Email poppynudge@gmail.com.

How Your Data is Stored

All data you enter into Poppy is stored locally on your device. This includes:

  • Contact information and relationships
  • Check-in history and notes
  • Mood and vibe logs
  • Custom groups and cadences
  • Any other information you add to the app

Important: Poppy does not upload names, notes, or check-ins to cloud storage. Your relationship data stays on your device.

What Poppy Does Not Collect

Poppy does not collect or transmit your personal relationship content, including:

  • Contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses
  • Check-in notes or message content
  • Your full phone contact list
  • Exact location or GPS data
  • Advertising identifiers for ad targeting

Poppy may collect anonymous usage data, such as opening the app, completing onboarding, or logging a check-in, along with crash reports. This never includes contact names, notes, phone numbers, or message content. You can turn product analytics off in Settings.

Your Data, Your Control

You can export all your data as JSON at any time from the app settings. This gives you a complete backup of everything you've entered.

You can also delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the app. Since everything is stored locally, removing the app removes all data.

Third-Party Services

Poppy uses Sentry for crash reporting and PostHog for anonymous product analytics. These services may process technical metadata (such as app version, device model, operating system version, and event type). They do not receive your contact names, phone numbers, emails, check-in notes, or message content.

You can disable product analytics any time in Settings. Crash reporting may remain enabled to diagnose app stability issues.

Website Assets

The website loads fonts and scripts from third-party CDNs (Google Fonts and Tailwind CDN) and may load avatar images from pravatar. Your browser may request these assets directly from those providers. Poppy does not receive personal data from those providers.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy ever changes, it will be updated on this page with a new "last updated" date. Since Poppy doesn't collect contact information, it can't notify you directly of changes.
